Why do we do, what we do, as a nation, only to have it come back and bite us in the butt, over and over?
I have been thinking about a lot of the world events, going on today and our involvement, as a nation. Take Iraq for instance, we financed and gave to the previous president of that country, WMD's, only to go to war, not once, but twice, with that nation. Afghanistan is another country, that we financed and supported, gave arms to and then had to topple their government and create another. Panama, is another example of our government supporting and then toppling, the previous regime. Are our leaders idiots or is there something else going on?
Let's look at Iran, which is a hot topic of today. Iran obtained their nuclear program from the good ol USA and to further complicate matters, we also gave them weapons grade materials, to run their facilities. Then just recently, I read an article about how we just sold Iran tons of parts for their F-14s. Why are we as a nation, doing these things, only to have to stop them down the road, because they pose a threat, that we created in the first place?
In the last few years, our government gave, Pakistan and India nuclear weapons. Why the heck would we do this, considering they are mortal enemies and live next door to one another. What an unbelievable, stupid thing to do!
How about China? Why the heck are we giving them "most favored nation status" and we know all too well, that they hate us, more than any other country on the planet and as they have stated numerous times, they would like nothing better, than to see our country destroyed. We even have our military train with them, such as our Special Forces. We have been promoting business with them since the 70's and have built them up to a super power, both financially and military wise. They are all over South America and training with various militaries of that continent. They have been funding presidential campaigns and caught stealing our nuclear secrets, but yet we continue to give them "most favored nation status" for decades, even though, they want our destruction and are truly a communist regime, that kills millions of it's own people.
Time and again, the same names keep popping up, as to who the players are in regards to who is involved, with the above regimes. It just leaves me with more unanswered questions, as to "why do we do, what we do, as a nation".
Anyone have a clue? Is there a candidate out there, who speaks about this, that I can vote for?
